Two people are having a conversation over coffee in an office setting. The person on the left is listening intently to the person on the right. Active listening is an important part of the solution-focused approach to supported employment.

Solution-Focused Career Practioner

The solution-focused approach invites us to remember that every job seeker holds a core part of the solution to their employment challenges. By listening deeply, remaining genuinely curious, and asking powerful solution-focused questions, we invite the job seeker to envision their preferred employment future while exploring the strengths, resources, and sources of motivation that will enable them to achieve their goals.

Grounded in established best practices, this foundational course will refine students’ understanding of supported employment to benefit both work-seeking individuals and employers or contractors.
