Preparing to Be a Mentorship Facilitator

Mentorships are valuable tools to support career exploration and enhancement. For mentees, mentorships offer opportunities to increase their professional knowledge and networks. For mentors, mentoring allows them to enhance their leadership and communication skills and gain new community connections. 

This course is designed to support employment professionals to facilitate mentorships for job seekers experiencing disability. The MentorAbility approach focuses on supporting career development for job seekers while strengthening relationships with employers. This approach offers multiple benefits to participating employment professionals.

During this course we explore:

  • The value of mentorships and mentorship facilitation.  
  • The MentorAbility Canada initiative.  
  • Best practices to facilitate inclusive mentoring experiences.  
  • Strategies to deliver strong pitches to employers/potential mentors. 
  • Follow-up practices to maximize the benefits of mentorships.  

Course Delivery

This course is delivered online and can be completed at your convenience in about 2 hours. It offers information, video content, strategies, and downloadable resources. Successful participants receive micro-credentials which can be posted on social media channels like LinkedIn or websites to demonstrate your organization’s commitment to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
