What if one story could inspire someone in a way that nothing else has or ever will? \n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_text _id=”6″ ][cs_content_seo]The Canadian Association for Supported Employment, in partnership with the Disability and Work in Canada Initiative, are pulling together stories from across the country, in an effort to highlight the voices of those experiencing disability, who have contributed, or continue to contribute in some way to Canada’s workforce. We want to offer you a national platform to share your own personal journey within the working world.
Are you someone who has not let your injury, disability or mental health and wellness define you? Do you have a client that has obtained successful supported employment and would be interested in connecting? Are you an employer with a great story to share? We are not looking for perfection. We want to hear about the trials and tribulations that have contributed to the resilience, and perseverance, which make up this wonderful and diverse Canadian landscape that we call home.
We plan to feature numerous 5-minute videos on the journeys of Canadians, who wish to share their narrative on their experiences with supported employment clients’, employers’, or their own personal journey. These short video vignettes will be featured at the next Disability and Work Canada virtual conference, held on November 25th & 26th and December 1st & 2nd, 2020. Videos will be pre-taped and may be recorded individually on your phone, or with the coordinator’s assistance.
We are not looking for high video quality, we care more about the power of these stories. Our hope is to provide a very practical and non-intrusive way to story share, to inspire and to connect with many others that share the dream of having a barrier free Canada, one in which everybody and every body is valued equally.
We also encourage stories about partnership and collaboration – for example an employer and an employee, a service provider and an employer or employee, or an employer and a union.\n\n[/cs_content_seo][/cs_element_layout_column][/cs_element_layout_row][cs_element_layout_row _id=”7″ ][cs_element_layout_column _id=”8″ ][cs_element_text _id=”9″ ][cs_content_seo]If you would like to hear more about this unique opportunity, please contact Nicole MacDonald at 1.800.684.5628 Ext. 705 or via email at: [email protected]\n\n[/cs_content_seo][/cs_element_layout_column][/cs_element_layout_row][/cs_element_section][/cs_content]
