Mandy recognizes Paige's talents: ‘It is very clear that she is a creative problem solver”

After completing an Administrative Assistant and Business certificate program, Paige was excited to begin exploring career interests that align with her education. During her time at college Paige participated in work placements, where she discovered that she excelled in receptionist and consultant roles.

For her MentorAbility experience, Paige decided she wanted to return to an organization where she completed a work experience previously to learn more about it. ‘The Center’ is a drop-in location for youth that offers counselling, mentoring and special events. Paige was connected to The Center’s Community & Office Director, Mandy, and the two spent most of the day together going over the ins-and-outs of the center.

Mandy had Paige assist with some of the daily operations, including cash-out from The Center’s canteen – The Center Perk. She also showed Paige some of the software used to manage the organization. Mandy praised Paige’s creative problem-solving skills. “Paige was very willing to try new things and find ways to make it work for her. It is very clear that she is a creative problem solver.”

Thanks for connecting with MentorAbility to explore your career interests, Paige!
