When Ashley connected with MentorAbility to explore potential career paths, she immediately expressed a great interest in working with animals – she’s loved animals all her life and has many pets at home, including dogs, guinea pigs and ducks!
On top of loving animals, Ashley possessed excellent communication skills, took direction very well and carried wonderful energy. She envisioned herself working with the public in some capacity and we were able to connect her with pet supplies and accessories store PetValu in Markdale, where the owners were happy to mentor Ashley.
Ashley arrived at PetValu where she was given a three-hour mentorship from owners Allyson and Trevor, learning how to place products, communicate with customers, stock shelves, and even engrave pet nametags.
