Scheduling the MentorAbility Experience\n\n
Connect directly with the job seeker to confirm the type of experience (i.e., in-person or virtual), and if they require any additional support for the event. This might mean providing some training on how to use the meeting platform (if virtual), confirming transportation arrangements (if in-person), and scheduling time in advance to support your job seeker in developing questions to ask their mentor.
Connect directly with the mentor to confirm the type of experience (i.e., virtual or in-person), and if they require any additional support for the event. This might mean providing training on how to use the meeting platform (if virtual), confirming if any workplace safety gear is required for your job seeker to wear (if in-person), and scheduling time in advance to support the mentor in preparing for the mentorship.

Good practice tip – Be sure to consider the working environment and dress code! For example, in an office environment, most individuals wear business casual clothing. If the mentorship is virtual, support the job seeker in establishing a room in their home (or meeting location) that is quiet and orderly to make a good impression. \n\n[/cs_content_seo][cs_element_accordion_item _id=”62″ ][cs_content_seo]4. Post-Mentorship Follow-Up and Activities\n\nEach MentorAbility Experience showcases the coming together of a mentor and a mentee (jobseeker) though a mentorship experience offered by a local supported employment service provider that’s part of the MentorAbility Canada network.  Get to know the stories of Canadians who experience disabilities, the supported employment service providers who connected them with those mentorship experiences, and the employers who served as mentors.
