Melissa: The Thrill of Victory. Facilitated by WASO. Logos: MentorAbility Canada, the Canadian Association for Supported Employment and the Government of Canada.

Melissa left the meeting with a huge smile on her face and said she could definitely see herself working for an organization like Special Olympics Manitoba.

Melissa arrived at MentorAbility wanting to explore career paths that would be the right fit for her future. We had the wonderful opportunity to pair Melissa with Camryn, who works in sport and competition support at Special Olympics Manitoba, and she gladly accepted.

During this MentorAbility experience, Camryn shared insight into her role and the responsibilities she handles at Special Olympics Manitoba. Melissa very much appreciated these insights from Camryn’s own personal journey, and she was grateful for the valuable advice Camryn gave her on navigating a new career path in the sports industry.

It was a fantastic match as the pair bonded over a love of sports, and Melissa really identified with and connected to Camryn’s journey. Melissa admitted that she was nervous before the mentorship, but she left the meeting with a huge smile on her face and said she could definitely see herself working for an organization like Special Olympics Manitoba. Camryn also said that she was very happy to be a mentor and would be happy to do it again in the future.

A big thank you to Camryn for helping guide Melissa in her mentorship, and we wish Melissa the best of luck as she moves forward in her employment journey!
