Digital literacy is recognized as a critical skill<\/span>set<\/span>\u00a0that supports life-long learning and increases employability.\u00a0<\/span>The Canadian workforce is\u00a0<\/span>experiencing\u00a0<\/span>expon<\/span>ential growth in the use of digital platforms, applications, and tools.\u00a0<\/span>In this evolving labour market, many\u00a0<\/span>job seekers and new empl<\/span>oyees\u00a0<\/span>are requi<\/span>red to<\/span>\u00a0use technology to\u00a0<\/span>research, communicate, and complete job-related\u00a0<\/span>tasks<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>

This online program prepares employment professionals to conduct digital skill assessments. It provides the tools and resources required to support job seekers in increasing their digital knowledge and technical capabilities. The program fosters critical thinking around online safety by exploring strategies to manage an online presence and leverage social media for employment-related purposes.<\/p>\n

The Digital Literacy Instructor certificate program allows employment service providers to offer well-rounded instruction and support to job seekers. When an employment professional successfully completes the program, they are eligible to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • receive a registration URL and instructor orientation,<\/li>\n
  • host a group of students on the CASE learning portal,<\/li>\n
  • grade assignments and provide feedback to students,<\/li>\n
  • receive evaluation data from their students, and<\/li>\n
  • access technical support while teaching.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Upon completion, both instructors and job seekers receive micro-credentials that verify their participation in their respective programs and outline the targeted knowledge, skills, and\/or competencies addressed.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    The Digital Literacy Certificate Programs were developed in partnership with the University of the Fraser Valley, with additional support from Community Futures South Fraser, Community Futures Ventures, and the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program of BC.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
