Joseph collabore r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement avec des comit\u00e9s gouvernementaux, contribuant&nbsp;\u00e0 \u00e9laborer des&nbsp;politiques&nbsp;qui visent&nbsp;\u00e0 faciliter l&#8217;int\u00e9gration professionnelle des personnes&nbsp;en situation de handicap.&nbsp;En tant qu\u2019administrateur de l\u2019ACSE,&nbsp;Joseph&nbsp;contribue&nbsp;\u00e0 la fois par son&nbsp;exp\u00e9rience pratique,&nbsp;son exp\u00e9rience dans l\u2019\u00e9laboration de politiques publiques et&nbsp;par sa&nbsp;connaissance des strat\u00e9gies et programmes du gouvernement provincial en mati\u00e8re d&#8217;emploi et de handicap.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Nous avons demand\u00e9 \u00e0 Joseph de d\u00e9crire ce qu&#8217;est l&#8217;Association canadienne&nbsp;de soutien \u00e0 l\u2019emploi&nbsp;et de parler de&nbsp;l\u2019exp\u00e9rience qu\u2019il a v\u00e9cu&nbsp;en tant que membre du conseil d&#8217;administration de l&#8217;ACSE au cours de l&#8217;ann\u00e9e qui vient de s&#8217;\u00e9couler.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Joseph&nbsp;Giulione:&nbsp;<\/strong>Je suis un nouveau membre de CASE. Je suis membre avec eux depuis un petit peu plus d\u2019un an. Donc, je vais parler de deux sens. Premi\u00e8rement, l\u2019Association canadienne de soutien \u00e0 l\u2019emploi existe depuis 25 ans. Comme tout organisme,&nbsp;c\u2019est parti d\u2019un besoin. C\u2019est un service national de fournisseurs de services d\u2019emploi aux personnes en situation\u2026 qui partagent la m\u00eame vision, qui partagent les m\u00eames valeurs et qui\u2026 leur travail est accentu\u00e9 sur comment mieux desservir la population en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral\u2026 la population des personnes en situation de handicap en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Donc, c\u2019est s\u00fbr que les fournisseurs de services portent diff\u00e9rents noms, d\u00e9pendant\u2026 et financ\u00e9s diff\u00e9remment d\u00e9pendamment dans quelles provinces ils sont. En ayant un service, une repr\u00e9sentation, une association canadienne, \u00e7a nous permet \u00e0 la fois de partager les bons coups\u2026 nos connaissances, de partager nos outils, de s\u2019investir au niveau de\u2026 comment mieux former les personnes qui travaillent pour nous, pour qu\u2019ils puissent mieux offrir le service de qualit\u00e9 aux personnes qui viennent cogner \u00e0 nos portes.&nbsp;C\u2019est aussi au niveau de la repr\u00e9sentation\u2026 au niveau gouvernemental, je veux dire, c\u2019est aussi au niveau du d\u00e9veloppement de projets, du d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019id\u00e9es\u2026&nbsp;c\u2019est&nbsp;des places o\u00f9 l\u2019on peut se r\u00e9unir et voir en fin de compte comment on peut peaufiner notre service toujours avec l\u2019id\u00e9e qu\u2019on doit avancer. Le but de l\u2019exercice, c\u2019est que le plus qu\u2019on est capable d\u2019aider le plus de monde possible, et que l\u2019\u00e9cart, en fin de compte, des personnes sans emploi qui sont en situation de handicap et des personnes sans emploi qui ne sont pas en situation de handicap\u2026 que cet \u00e9cart-l\u00e0 soit r\u00e9duit ou id\u00e9alement tout le monde a des services et tout le monde a acc\u00e8s au march\u00e9. Donc, on partage les m\u00eames valeurs, on partage la m\u00eame vision. On croit que toute personne en situation de handicap a sa place sur le march\u00e9 du travail, et c\u2019est notre r\u00f4le de mettre en place toutes les structures possibles pour les aider \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser leur objectif au niveau du travail, leur objectif professionnel quoi!&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>Personnellement, je suis l\u00e0&nbsp;depuis un an. Ce qui est int\u00e9ressant pour quelqu\u2019un qui vient du Qu\u00e9bec, \u00e7a me permet moi d\u2019aller voir ce qui se fait dans les autres provinces. Des fois on se compare, des fois on apprend des affaires et des fois, \u00e7a nous apporte\u2026 \u00e7a nous permet d\u2019apporter une autre vision. Et c\u2019est toujours int\u00e9ressant de voir ce qui se fait ailleurs. Et \u00e7a nous donne\u2026 \u00e7a nous permet d\u2019avoir un r\u00e9seau qui est encore beaucoup plus \u00e9labor\u00e9 que se limiter \u00e0 la trentaine d\u2019organismes en employabilit\u00e9 \u00ab\u202fpersonnes handicap\u00e9es\u202f\u00bb dans la province. By bringing awareness to the topic of supported employment, you help our national network of supported employment service providers deliver increased employment inclusion for Canadians who experience disabilities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">On today\u2019s episode we&nbsp;learn what is&nbsp;Joseph&nbsp;Guilione\u2019s&nbsp;perspective on what is the Canadian Association for Supported Employment.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>Joseph has many years of experience supporting people who experience&nbsp;disabilities and has worked at&nbsp;L\u2019Arrimage, a supported employment service for people living with mental illness, since 1984. He is the current president for the&nbsp;Regroupement&nbsp;des&nbsp;organismes&nbsp;sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s&nbsp;pour&nbsp;l\u2019emploi&nbsp;des&nbsp;personnes&nbsp;handicap\u00e9es&nbsp;(ROSEPH), and has served on their board of directors since 2006.&nbsp;Joseph consults regularly with government committees, helping to shape policies to facilitate employment integration for people with disabilities. Joseph brings a combination of practical experience, public policy development and insight on the provincial government\u2019s strategies and programs on employment and disability to his position as a CASE board director.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>We&nbsp;asked&nbsp;Joseph&nbsp;to describe what is the Canadian Association for Supported Employment&nbsp;and to discuss his experience as a Board Member at CASE over the past year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Joseph&nbsp;Giulione:&nbsp;<\/strong>I\u2019m a new member at CASE. I\u2019ve been a member for a little more than a year.&nbsp;The Canadian Association for Supported Employment has existed for 25 years. Like all organizations, it was founded to meet a need. It is a national association of employment service providers for individuals who experience disabilities, who share the same vision<s>,<\/s>&nbsp;and&nbsp;values,&nbsp;and whose work revolves around how to better serve individuals who experience disabilities. Service providers use different terms and are funded differently depending on the province where they are located. CASE allows us to share our success stories,&nbsp;our knowledge,&nbsp;and&nbsp;our tools,&nbsp;to&nbsp;better train the people who work&nbsp;in our field<s>,<\/s>&nbsp;so that they can better offer a quality service to the people who come knocking on our doors.&nbsp;CASE also does&nbsp;advocacy&nbsp;work&nbsp;at the government level. It also does&nbsp;project development<s>,<\/s>&nbsp;and&nbsp;idea development, allows members to&nbsp;connect and&nbsp;see how we can refine our services.&nbsp;CASE aims&nbsp;to help as many people&nbsp;who&nbsp;experience&nbsp;disabilities&nbsp;as possible&nbsp;and&nbsp;close&nbsp;the&nbsp;gap between the unemployment&nbsp;rate of individuals who experience disabilities and the unemployment rate of the general population,&nbsp;making&nbsp;it so&nbsp;that&nbsp;everyone has access to&nbsp;the employment&nbsp;services<s> <\/s>and employment opportunities they need.&nbsp;We share the same values, the same vision. We believe that every person&nbsp;who experiences disabilities&nbsp;has a place in the job market, and it is our role to set up support structures to help them achieve their work objectives, their professional objectives!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Personally, I&#8217;ve been&nbsp;involved with CASE&nbsp;for a year&nbsp;(as a Board of Directors member). What\u2019s interesting for someone from Quebec is that I\u2019ve had the opportunity to see what\u2019s happening in other provinces.&nbsp;We make comparisons,&nbsp;we learn about&nbsp;how others do things&nbsp;and&nbsp;this can help&nbsp;as&nbsp;it gives us different&nbsp;perspective. And it&#8217;s always interesting to see what&#8217;s being done elsewhere.
