participate in Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) this October. DEAM offers important opportunities, not only during October but throughout the year, to work towards expanding our workforce and strengthening organizational culture.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e9fa5de elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"e9fa5de\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Why is DEAM important?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-8e5b4db elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"8e5b4db\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-76583a6\" data-id=\"76583a6\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ab580dc elementor-widget-tablet__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ab580dc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Jon waits all year for October because DEAM places a special focus on his work connecting employers with job seekers who experience disability. It gives him a chance to flip the narrative in a relevant way for employers by focusing on the abilities of current job seekers.\u00a0<\/p><p>DEAM provides an opportunity to open dialogue, foster connection, and draw attention to an important piece of the employment landscape. For NDEAM, a national campaign by ODEN. Light It Up! encourages organizations to light up their workplaces in purple and blue on Thursday, October 17, to put a spotlight on workplace disability inclusion.<\/p><p>Jon noted the increased number of resources available during DEAM. Employment specialists and their agencies share resources and are available to support employers and let them know about all the services they offer, many at no cost, during October and all year round.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>DEAM is a good time to reflect on current inclusive practices within your organization. Every organization, no matter where they are on their inclusive journey, can increase their knowledge and strengthen their inclusive workplace culture.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-8b095d6 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"8b095d6\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-4f8716d\" data-id=\"4f8716d\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3f9beca elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3f9beca\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">How can employers use what they\u2019ve learned during DEAM throughout the rest of the year?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7d361dd elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7d361dd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>All the connections made and resources and information obtained during DEAM can be used throughout the year. The reflection organizations do during DEAM can lead to changes, and these changes do not happen overnight.\u00a0<\/p><p>The connections made with employment agencies and local disability organizations can be nurtured beyond DEAM.
